Dogtoberfest returns on October 22, 2016, noon-3pm, at Knightdale’s Ashley Wilder Dog Park. Organizers are accepting vendor and sponsor applications now.

The event is scheduled for Ashley Wilder Dog Park — the grassy area across from the Knightdale Station Park playground and Oak City Brewing — at 810 North First Avenue, in Knightdale NC.

The event will kick off with a 2k9 fun walk/run, along with a costume contest for dogs, pet adoption and pet related vendors. Dogtoberfest is free to humans and dogs of all ages, and there is no pre-registration required. Goody bags are planned, to be given to the first 100 participants the day of the event.

After  the walk/run, participants can kick back and enjoy vendors and activities.

This event wouldn’t be possible with the support of vendors and sponsors.  The event organizers need you! They are seeking dog-related businesses or service providers who are interested in participating as vendors or sponsoring Dogtoberfest.

The 2015 sponsors and participants included The Vets Pets, Berkshire Park Apartments, The Soapy Dog, Girl Scouts, Suite Paws Pet Resort & Spa, Smithfield Road Veterinary Hospital, Oak City Brewing, Knightdale Animal Hospital, Wake Veterinary Hospital, Wake Veterinary Urgent Care, Five County Spay/Neuter Clinic, Knightdale Pet Resort, Wake County Animal Shelter, Nora & Ally, Buster Brown Doggie Treats, Triangle Sheltie Rescue, Boxer Rescue, and Barking Lot Treats.

Vendors would need to setup between 10-11am the morning of Dogtoberfest.

For sponsor information or questions about vendor space, contact Megan Thornton at 919.217.2236 or by email.

About Knightdale Station Park

From its beginnings as a small railroad town dating back to the early 1900’s, Knightdale continues to this very day to be one of Eastern North Carolina’s fastest growing and prosperous towns. With its rich and storied history leaving a lasting imprint on the town’s cultural, architectural, and physical landscape, its people and events both past and present have molded Knightdale into a town emitting a warm lively feeling that truly is the embodiment of the term “Southern Charm.”

The development of Knightdale Station is a direct result of these characteristics that make the town the hidden gem that it is, borrowing elements from their historic past and helping evolve through the present and into the future, adding value to the town while continuing to build on the tradition of the community.
